June 2006 - Acquired Custom Wood Products, LLC and Rich Maid Kabinetry, LLC, producers of high quality custom and semi-custom kitchen and bath cabinets.
August 2006 - Acquired Best Lighting Products Inc., an outsourced supplier of exit signs and emergency lighting products.
October 2006 - Acquired Advanced Sleep Concepts, Inc. (Spears Mattress Company), a manufacturer of a full line of quality mattresses under the Englander brand name.
Sell-Side
Sold our remaining publicly traded stock in Kenexa Corporation after the initial public offering, capping off a very successful and rewarding experience with this impressive management team and company.
Wafra Team
Ryan Wierck was promoted to Managing Director, Omar Akbar was elevated to Vice President, and we expanded the team with the addition of Andrew Thompson and Sid Murdeshwar.
Fund-raising
We raised our fourth round of capital in July 2006, and were thrilled to add a significant new institutional investor to our core client base. This will keep us busy in the years to come.
Current Activities
We are moving forward with two acquisitions under letters of intent, which are representative of our continuing investment criteria:
Industries - consumer products; outsourced business services; consumer-driven services; niche manufacturers
Revenue - $20 million or more
EBITDA - $4 million or more
Characteristics - Continuing senior management; discernible and executable growth drivers
